Our latest study ‚Engineering Peptide Modulators for T-Cell Migration by Structural Scaffold Matching‚ is online! Enjoy reading our article in the #Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.

An international consortium led by the PeptAIDes research team identified the peptide inhibitor of transendothelial T-cell migration (Pepitem) as a prototypic peptide with migration inhibition activity (read more about this topic in a comprehensive review article: Peptide modulators of cell migration: Overview, applications and future development). Using pepitem as a starting point and by developing the powerful structural scaffold matching approach, we generated the stabilized highly active probe VhTI-pep and showed its potency to reduce transendothelial migration of activated T-lymphocytes.

COST Action Snoopy conference

Roland Hellinger, Austrian representative and member of the management committee, participated in the COST Snoopy conference in Cres (Croatia), which took place from the 15th to 17th June 2025.

Cost CA23111 – Searching for Nanostructured or pOre fOrming Peptides for therapY is a European-wide network focusing on solutions and networking in this field.

OneHealthDrugs Cost conference

Roland Hellinger contributed an oral presentation to the OHD 2025 conference, „Strategies for breaking the chain between the parasite reservoir in animals and infections in humans“, which was held in Antwerp (Belgium) from 04-06th June. The talk was titled ‚Discovery, characterization and application of nature-derived cystine-knot peptides with antimicrobial activity‘.

The cost action OHD is a 3rd year project focusing on drug development against vector-borne diseases.

Conference visit

PI Dr. Hellinger as well as colleagues Paula Schwarz and Jonathan Dieringer attended the XIX Iberian Peptide Symposium in Santiago de Compostela in Spain (26.02.-01.03.2025). Roland Hellinger gave an oral presentation of the ZK relevant study ‚Scaffold selection and design of a migration inhibitor peptide‘. Schwarz and Dieringer presented their study progress with a scientific poster.

37th European Peptide Symposium

The research consortium, wit the scientists Roland Hellinger, Kirtikumar Jadhav, Jasmin Gattringer and Paula Schwarz, attended the 37th European Peptide Symposium and the 12th International Peptide Conference in Florence from 24-30th August. The project work of several projects was presented in a total of five posters. Advisory Board Members, DR. Christian W. Gruber and Dr. Markus Muttenthaler gave excellent oral talks.
